I was talking with someone yesterday who mentioned Australia is one region with an unnatural RED TIDE algae bloom. People are seeing RED RAIN. I am wondering if this is one example?? Is that a water spout (tornado over water)??

Beautiful photo and very unusual!

The fact that he chosed to use a filter that makes this landscape looks like an old Impressionist engraving or a charcoal drawing seems significant for me. The picture and its frame are very pictorial in themselves, so the filter works well in this case, but it also creates some distance with the object of the picture. Could mean the film is yet a quite abstract thing for him at the moment… Well sounds like dirt cheap psychology, I know facepalm

DS--love the new avatar! I agree about the IG framing...it is still a dream, but beginning to materialize and take form--at least the path now seems observable. You expressed it well.

Thanks Ivana. It's certainly an odd picture. I wonder what the flecks are. Sand? Salt?

It looks like it was taken through a window to me. Maybe a dirty window?

Ahhh = a wet window? at the sunset/sunrise?? I have accidentally created such pictures when the camera (and its autofocus) focus on the window with rain drops rather than the subject I am trying to actually get.

Was first thinking about the wet window too.
But what if it's drops from squirting water? A fountain or a water jet? The positioning of the drops (if it's drops) reminds me of a squirt of water (fan-shaped), not of dried marks of random drops on a window pane.
And I agree, if he used his smartphone (probably), seems the autofocus did focus on the foreground (drops) happy
