Saw this site for the Australian Grand Prix 25-27 March 2011. If you look down to the Twitter section word seems to be that Simon might be attending this years grand prix so keep your eyes and ears open if this is true. This is the link to the site.

UK fans - look out for a new Mentalist Ident on 5* (previously Fiver) which should be out soon. Once again it features the track 'Strategy 2 (Fight Them All)' by TheJaneBradfords. The previous one was great, here's a reminder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLlnS-hgMZQ

(I know a lot of people love this track which can be downloaded for free from http://thejanebradfords.bandcamp.com/album/the-jane-bradfords )

This is a great description of Simon Bakers acting talent from 20 August 2010. Print just the bit about Simon.

The best new fall shows come down to casting
Here are Entertainment Weekly’s candidates for "Best New Show of the Season” in its online poll: "90210”
    "The Mentalist”
    "Life on Mars”
    "Fringe”
    "My Own Worst Enemy”
That leaves two unqualified winners on their list the way I see it — "Life on Mars” and "The Mentalist.”
And both, I submit to you, are triumphs of the casting director’s art.
"The Mentalist,” at long last, is the perfect role for Simon Baker after many years of trying to find one in movies and TV shows. He’s the kind of handsome, blond hunk that almost anyone would assume would flutter female hearts and be big star material, and yet there’s always been something just a wee bit off about him that keeps him from becoming the common council president of George Clooneyville. To his credit, he can do creepy exceedingly well and has often had enough edge and performing feistiness to w ... Read more »

Update 10th March: The episode is actually called "Redacted" written by Eoghan Mahoney.

The Mentalist 3.20 is called "In The Red".
The episode revolves around Heather Blue and Cole Rodney. When Ted is murdered, Heather, a do-gooder who works in an animal shelter and Cole, a mercenary soldier in Iraq find themselves in a twisting web of lies and mixed loyalties. Also watch out for Vivian Griswold. Think surveillance as you are watching.

    Excerpt:
The former "psychic” uses his talent for seeing the clues everyone else misses to solve the most baffling crimes. But there’s more than crime that makes this season a must-see.
Part of The Mentalist's appeal is due to Simon Baker's easy, amazing performance as the California Bureau of Investigation's staff psychic. Part of it is in the snappy writing and the plots that are a cut above the average network cop show. And part of it is The Mentalist's splurging on shooting on location, all over California. It elevates the state to a costarring role, and enriches the plots and gives them depth and context.
