Thanks Marie for the video links and uploads. It's really fun to see Simon, relaxed, shy, embarrassed, all of it. Still trying to be patient and wait to see the film.
Thanks DSP and Tina for these lovely little snippets. It may sound silly, and this is only my opinion, but after having seen Simon cast as an American in TV series' and films (he even played an American in IGIAY, a British movie) it is so nice to hear his real Aussie accent at last. I feel we are now seeing the real Simon, especially in the Harper's Bazaar photos, a true rugged Australian, as opposed to "the Hollywood star" he is often portrayed.
I like the Aussie accent much more than the US accent! And I agree with you bee, this is more the real Simon. I'm happy that he moved back to Australia! I have the feeling that he belongs there. And that he is more happy in Australia.
I’ve always loved the Aussie accent and love Simons accent .. so natural and so much nicer than an american one . He really does seem to be happier and more “himself” now. I always felt he was somewhat restrained in interviews before and felt he had to watch what he said. I really hope he stays in Australia and directs and acts in more Australian films.
Simon Baker speaks about directorial debut for new film 'Breath'
Australian actor Simon Baker, alongside newcomers Samson Coulter and Ben Spence, speaks about his directorial debut adapting Tim Winton’s novel Breath.
From Screen Australia: Simon Baker on filming the surfing and ocean scenes for Breath – basically, be ready to drop everything when the conditions are right.
NOVA 100 radio interview: We were thrilled to meet Aussie actor Simon Baker, actor, director and star of the film adaptation of the Tim Winton book, Breath. We caught up with Simon about self doubt, how to go about casting yourself in a film, how he remembers his lines, and of course how photogenic horses are.
Here's the video, with all the bits that didn't make it to air included.
What a lovely interview and I love it when he talks about Harry. Considering the number of interviews, photo shoots and Q and A sessions on this Breath tour Simon seems incredibly upbeat when in fact he must be exhausted! Since returning to Australia he seems far more relaxed and happy in general.
