It seems than Simon "new look" with the "scruffy beard" made quite a buzz on twitter among his fans… especially the french ones.
Some are shocked by the contrast with his neat and well-groomed looks in adverts (Givenchy), the kind that make him looks like the perfect son-in-law, or even his 3 piece suit look in TM, and the all-natural and laid-back "wooly mammoth" Simon.
One says he looks like a homeless! 
Me I like he does what he wants, and is not particularly concerned by what people think! The anti-Hollywood star! Go Simon. |

I agree Marie. Simon may be preparing himself for the role of Sando in the way he now appears with the long hair and beard but I also believe he is just being himself, relaxed, happy and enjoying life! The Givenchy look is really just another role he's portraying in order to sell a product and Patrick Jane is simply a character, not Simon. It's unfair for someone to say he looks like a "homeless". He looks fit and healthy. Yes he does look different but I love the fact that he can now please himself how he looks. As long as he's happy that's fine with me! I still think he looks gorgeous! |

I don't think that the full beard scruffy look is one of his best looks but he's on his own time right now so he can look any way that makes him happy. And he really does look healthy, happy and relaxed ............. that's what's important. This look also probably helps him be at least a little bit incognito when he's out in public because it's not a look that immediately screams "The Mentalist is here". Most average celebrity watchers probably wouldn't recognize him with this look if he walked past them and I would think that's a very desirable thing when you're just trying to live a bit of a normal life. |

For me, he looks like the typical Australian surfer boy at the moment. I like him "clean" like in TM or the Givenchy ads, but also like now casual and with beard. I've always liked a natural look on men. I prefer that to suit and tie. |

Whatever length of Simons hair or beard he is always just plain gorgeous and I love that he is relaxing and enjoying life back home. |

Agree with redbird and Deedee. I'm not a big beard fan either. But If Simon comfortable with it, why not. He is gorgeous and beautiful man, he is a star but still very down to earth and that is why we love him. |
