Valerie Benaïm is a presenter of the TV show "Touche pas à mon poste". The journalist who interviewed Simon for "I Give It A Year" asked him to make a joke to Valerie. "Patoche" is supposed to be the name of Valerie’s boyfriend. She wants to remain discreet about their relationship and doesn't want to reveal who her boyfriend is. There have been speculations about the identity of this "Patoche" and jokes about him by the other journalists of her TV show.
