You crack me up, Agent M - I wondered if anyone would catch my unintentional James Bond reference. I didn't notice the reference until after I'd already posted.

Sorry ladies, I don't agree because we can see in Simon's eyes his original goodness and the real Bond is a tough guy and not at all sensitive.

Simon tried for the part, but he was told he was too 'small' for Ian Fleming's spy.

I became convinced that Simon could do James Bond after seeing him in Margin Call. There was nothing sensitive about the character he played in that movie and the guy was as tough as nails. As for being physically tough, Simon is an athletic guy in the prime of his life.

Bond is high profile but I can't see that it has much else going for it. I'd much rather see Simon using his great acting and directing talents to bring us something personal and unique.

I'd rather see him play a more complex character than Bond.

I totally agree, Hayseed. I think Bond is too shallow a character for Simon's skills.

I agree that the Bond character has been played as shallow. But that doesn't mean that he has to be played that way. Even with the same spoken lines, Simon can do so much with his expressions that he would add a lot to the Bond legacy. Seriously, who among us doesn't want to see more film of Simon in a tuxedo!

Clippings from australian magazine, early 90
Seems Miss Rigg is pregnant, so it must be in from 1993?

Thanks DSP, the first one is 1994, but I guess they're from 2 different magazines.

It's rather cute how in these photos, taken over twenty years apart, Rebecca and Simon are holding hands in both that have them together smile

I really love that, how sweet they are with each other after all these years. And Simon always seems so protective. Wish I had a man like that ... love
