On the plus side, sure looked like the demo was not watching TV last night, across the board low ratings. |

Ratings this week took a dive, but since the show hasn't been on regularly in a while, I think we'll stabilize once we get out of this on and off every other weekend schedule debacle. The bad news for CBS is that the move of TM to Sunday cost them the more important 10PM Thursday slot. Elementary has lost that spot to Scandal which TM handily beat last year. |

If it helps with ratings, not a single network show on Sunday night took more than a 2.4 in the demo. Not a single one. I don't know if the demo were all watching the finale of Downton Abbey or if since it was a holiday weekend people were out of town or what. The thing is that the show will be off again in March during the basketball tourney. Though that really won't matter because it was off during that period when it was on on Thursday anyway. |

I think they thought they could plug in a "new look alike replacement" for TM on Thursday with Elementary and have it take off.
Uh, wake up, CBS, TM is special for a number of reasons, and Elementary doesn't hold a candle to it. (sorry to any Elementary fans out there, just calling them like I see them)
I desperately hope we get one more season of TM and they allow it to go out in style with a satisfying conclusion. A weeknight slot would be nice, too, while I'm wishing. |

justlook, ratings are in for Downton Abbey finale, it did double it's usual audience (and four times that of the non-Abbey usual PBS Masterpiece Theater ratings) and since I believe a lot of TM fans also watch that, it certainly did play into the low ratings for TM since pretty much everyone knew what was going to happen in Abbey, just not exactly how, i.e. I kept thinking, is he going to get hit in the head in Cricket, go like Heathcliff in the moors or... And yes, Hayseed, Elementary is CBS' in-house attempt not just to copy the BBC Sherlock, but TM, since TM is the only new US drama series in the last 5 years to be a big international hit.

Off-topic maybe, but about Downton Abbey. Peithon, you say you think a lot of TM fans also watch it. I've been meaning to get into it, so I'm quite interested to hear why you think that. |

Quote since I believe a lot of TM fans also watch that,
I have several friends who watch both Downton Abbey and TM, and they all opted for DA this week, because big things are happening on that show. My friends all highly annoyed that TM was moved to Sundays. |
