Not sure yet which is my fav ep. I know my favorite line is from the pilot ep. Van Pelt says to PJ something like: "Heaven is a real place. And you have an eternal soul." |

My favourites are the Pilot episode where we first met Patrick Jane (so special), Bloodshot where Jane loses his sight which although sad had some very funny moments and the finale Red John's Footsteps where he saves Lisbon's life while at the same time losing the only link he has to RJ.

All of them. Season One is one big flight across awesomeness.
But if I had to narrow it down: Pilot, Red Tide, Red-Handed (my first), Flame Red, Crimson Casanova, Bloodshot, Russet Potatoes, Miss Red, Blood-Brothers, Red John's Footsteps.
That didn't help much, did it? :-/
Let's say Russet Potatoes.

My favourite funny episode from Season 1 is 'Crimson Casanova', I never tire of watching it. It also has 2 of my favourite funny lines - "Men are like toasters, women are a little more like accordions", and of course Simon's brilliant ad-lib "There's no business like Cho business".
But my favourite episode is 'Seeing Red' because I think we started to see the many different shades of Jane. It provided an opportunity for Simon's versatility and talent to be showcased, as he delivered lovely subtle humour and also great sadness and vulnerability. |

It's not easy...In Season 1 we started to know every parts of Jane's character but I loved in particular "Bloodshot"...First time in which Lisbon worried about Jane...:-) |

All of the above, especially
- Pilot: opening scene and all of the rest - Flame Red: one of the best interrogation scenes (Jane / Tommy) - Paint it Red: everything - Red Source: the golf scene and the rest - all other episodes: ... |

There are plenty of good episodes in season 1. However, the one I re-watch often is Red Handed. Jane in the casino is just so much fun to watch. I also love the opening scene with the severed hand and the memory palace explanation. The entire episode is just fun to watch.
The Pilot is good but I get distracted with Simon's hair color. It seemed off to me. The last scene in the bedroom remains the most powerful and memorable scene to me after all this years. |

Quote (fangs4fun) The Pilot is good but I get distracted with Simon's hair color. It seemed off to me. I've always thought Simon's colouring in the Pilot was a little strange, not just his hair colour but also his skin tone. I don't know if it was the lighting or maybe the post-production colouring, or perhaps they had to adjust the settings on the cameras to tone down the orangeness of his hair, which was as a result of his dying it for 'The Lodger' (People Magazine โ December 2008 "I dyed my hair for a project a year ago, and I reckon it was probably a mistake. It ended up orange and is only getting back to normal now. Really, I didn't even care when it was orange. It was my wife and friends who were like Dude, you've got to fix the hair.โ) |

Another interesting point about coloring. When Baker was filming "Something new", his hair color and light skin did not do well with the lighting for African American actors, so they had to darken his skin and his hair so as not to glow off the screen when he was with his co-star. He said he was definately off color for a while afterwards and his friends did make fun of him, don't know about Bec, she is after all in the business. |
