I like the banter between Abbott and Jane, although Abbott seems to have come round to Jane's way of doing things a little too quickly I feel and I would like to see some more "batting of heads" between these two.

Interesting you say that, because I was thinking the same.
And considering that

Ok maybe I'm a total paranoid tongue
And I would be sorry cause I like Abbott.

Ahem...DS...I do believe there is spoiler info in your post...any chance you can cover it? I try to avoid spoilers, and I know you didn't mean to drop the ball here. But just to save anyone else who may be trying to avoid info about upcoming episodes, I think we need to hide-ify it, as Jane might say! wink

I loved this episode and all the team and the ploy... everything.
However I found a strange thing : not a drop of blood under the bus shelter. While a man was shredded by a bomb !!

I don't think Jane is sad at the end. He is simply resigned. He cannot give more to Lisbon for the moment, still prisoner of his past, even if he wants to move forward after the death of RJ. He is aware that Lisbon deserves happiness because he says "I hope he's taking some nice place" and compliments her : "You're beautiful" and wishes her to have "a great time". He's sincere.
He closes his eyes. He resigned himself to loose her.... for the moment.

If you watch closely, he does reopen them after a bit. Pensive maybe. The look on Lisbon's face as she turns away was more angry or annoyed than excited.

I know the ending for Jane and Lisbon is already set in stone especially if we don't get a 7th season, but I always thought Madeleine Hightower and Jane could have got together. There seemed to be a connection between them, and Madeleine's kids would give Jane a ready-made family which he would love-I don't see Lisbon as the maternal type somehow.

Have I ruined your day?

No you haven't ruined my day...these things happen when we get excited about something...and who can help getting excited about PJ, SB and TM?!! biggrin

Jane and Hightower was always on my radar...I even hint at it in one of my fan-fiction stories! I totally agree with you, Tassie - it was the playful tap on the leg she gave him in Pink Chanel Suit whilst chastising him about his 'foolishness' that clinched it for me. That and the little kiss on the cheek he gave her at the end of the same episode - and then there was when he helped her to evade capture... I could go on. They would be well-matched. And of course, as you mention, there are the children too. A perfectly ready-made family who would socialise with Lisbon and her beau, whomever that may be. I can see it now, lol. biggrin

Another excellent epis. God John De Lancie is a icon to me and a wonderful actor. But this was a lovely team epis again. From the beginning i felt for the death row inmate and honestly believed him and abbott was fantastic in this epis and his crusade to help him. Jane rubbed off on him and he just went ahead and got the team to help him even though its not their case.

Loved wylie and the constant time telling and the alarms. But it ended up helping the case. Poor fischer jumped out of her skin at the time alarm. Jane was at his best trying to suss the suspect out. What 2 cool men in lancie and baker this was.

But kudos to the writers as this set up with the trying to trick suspects with the time has been done all the time but they actualy did this differently. They kept suspect in interrogation and i found it odd he had to sleep all night there on the floor. But they let them go and it was the scene in the car with the couple where it was the husband who actually got his wife to confess without realising it and they happened to be bugged in the car. That was a new spin on it. But my fave scene was abbott telling the inmate he will be free soon and the slow realisation of this by the inmate was so emotional i was nearly crying when he quietly broke down. Brilliant scene.

yes the ending was sad but again i don't understand why everyone was saying jane was so so sad. Yes lisbon tried to get in an out when he was asleep but he complimented her and hoped that pike take her somewhere special. it was heartfelt but it was lisbon who had the look of conflict and i thought bit guilty as well. Just a feeling i see. But jane yes its preying on him but he just quietly layed back and that was it. He still was bottling it in so no i did not see this overly emotional sad jane. He is still trying to figure this out. But loved this episode and cannot wait for the next one
