Since some have been speculating about her character and someone suggested a thread for her, here it is.

German Wikipedia describes Grace Van Pelt "a useful addition for CBI-Team" - and I think that is what she was in the beginning, but now has developed to a far more important character.
We can see a big development in Grace Van Pelt´s character from her first day at the CBI until the end of the 4th season.

The whole O´Laughlin-thing surely made her much more suspicious and less gullible.
After she had a hard time dealing with her anger, in the end of 4x12 (My bloody Valentine) she decided not to neglect her time with O´Laughlin but to learn to live with it and keep it as a memory by keeping the necklace.

I also think episode 4x16 was a very important one for Grace. Bret Stiles showed her to visualize her anger and it worked. She seems to be much more at peace with herself since then. When he told her she was like a little bird that fell out of the nest but wouldn´t need the nest but learn to fly, her face in that moment told us, she loved this imagination.
Fly, Grace, fly!
I was glad to see her genuinly happy for Rigsby becoming a father.

But she is also a lot more straight in standing to her position. In 4x22 she was the first to affirm that Marks got what he deserved when Jane tortured him in that coffin. The Van Pelt we used to know would have insisted that no one deserves any bad treatment at all, or she would at least have said her "I don´t know" (often used words from Grace) or even nothing.
It is clear to see that she changed her thinking about good and bad a lot.

I don´t know where all this may lead her, but she seems to have changed her personal understanding for justice. To me it might even be possible she has sort of sympathy for Jane´s desire for vengeance now and may become more of a co-worker in that matter.
Wich I would like to see because I always liked the Jane&VanPelt-scenes.
She sort of admires him for his skills, consults him and takes his advice like he was a father-figure or a big brother to her.
So there is a trustful feel between them.

She could also turn in the opposite direction, of course but I don´t believe Bruno Heller will make her working for RJ for that meant we would lose her (unless she could be saved, wich I think is unlikely). And I really want to trust Bruno he wouldn´t take away a team-member.

I like Van Pelt as a character (and I do like Amanda Righetti) and I´m looking forward to see more of her.
Some flashback-scenes from her past would be interesting, perhaps some family member appearence during
investigations, somehow.
