Magic on Mainstreet – 2003
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the "Magic on Mainstreet Fair” at Sony Studios, which supported the Westside Childrens Center. I had a chance to visit briefly with Raphael Sbarge, who is just the nicest man. I don't think he remembered me right away until I reminded him that I had been able to spend a day visiting the set last March. He introduced me to his wife and daughter and I had a chance to tell him how much I was enjoying Season 3. He thanked me and said to stay tuned, "because it is going to get crazy!".
I also had a chance to talk very briefly with Simon, who looked absolutely yummy in his blue t-shirt, jeans, and shades. Again, I don't think he immediately remembered me - hey, that day on the set was a life altering event for me, but it was just another day at the office for him!. He was very nice to me, and very generous with his time, and I had a chance to tell him how much I was enjoying Season 3 – that the show felt like it had really found its center again. I raved about "Big Coal". He smiled and said, "it was really good, wasn't it?". YES YES YES!
I didn't want to intrude upon his time with his family, so I said goodbye after that. I did have a chance to see him with Rebecca and the kids as they enjoyed the various events at the Fair, and what an adorable, loving family they are. You can tell that Simon's family is the most important thing in the world to him—he loves acting, but his family is truly his passion. He just does not stop smiling when he is with them.
