In the end I couldn't resist. After learning this entire exchange by heart I thought I'd gather a transcript of what in my opinion is the greatest piece of dialogue in anything ever. It doesn't matter if Timothy Carter wasn't really who he said he was, I still rewatch that scene every other week or month in hope that I can one day write something even half as great.

So here it is. Jane's first encounter with "Red John".
