Going Out With a Bang!
Mentalist murder ends Grace’s wedding
Gorgeous Grace Van Pelt is set to walk down the aisle with hunky FBI Agent Craig O’Laughlin in the blockbuster two-hour season finale of The Mentalist in May – but her dream wedding ends in horror!
Van Pelt’s dashing groom, played by Eric Winter, is savagely murdered shortly before the ceremony – and is tragically buried on what Amanda Righetti’s heart-broken character says "was going to be the greatest day of my life”.
O’Laughlin’s death clears the way for his love rival, California Bureau of Investigation lawman Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), to comfort the grieving bride-to-be as the CBS drama’s third season comes to an end.
Surprisingly, the slain federal agent may not have been what he seemed! The ENQUIRER can reveal O’Laughlin is shown in a steamy embrace with another woman shortly before he was due to get hitched – and Rigsby caught him in the act!
But the biggest shock is that sources are hinting the handsome G-man actually is the twisted serial killer Red John, who murdered the wife and daughter of crime-busting Mentalist Patrick Jane (Simon Baker). But that mystery won’t be solved until next September, when the show starts its fourth year.
However, Amanda confirms that next season "I’ll run back to Rigsby”. And that’s good news for the 14 million regular viewers of the Thursday night blockbuster who have been pushing for the couple to reunite.
