2018 ADG Awards Nominees are Announced
SIMON BAKER, JENNIFER PEEDOM, GREG MCLEAN AND KRIV STENDERS AMONGST THE NOMINEES FOR THE 2018 ADG AWARDS
The Australian Directors’ Guild (ADG) Awards are fast approaching and today the ADG has revealed the nominations for 2018. Simon Baker has received a nomination for his directorial feature debut Breath and he is joined in the BEST DIRECTION OF A FEATURE FILM category by Greg McLean for Jungle, Tori Garrett for Don’t Tell, Jeffrey Walker for Ali’s Wedding and Jason Raftopoulos for West of Sunshine.

"Beautiful, exquisitely detailed, smart, faithful to themes of the novel. Like all films of a beloved piece of literature it is not a visual mirror copy of the novel,
as film allows the viewer to see and thus ‘live’ the story. ‘Simon Baker’ Breath’ (as it was at the festival) is true to the novel’s depth and poetry while
allowing it’s own uniqueness and tenderness to shine through. I hope the people of Australia appreciate it as much as we did and the theater is filled with
same chorus of applause that we heard last night.
[…] I adore Winton’s work and have read the Breath at least a dozen times is English and also in French. Truly this film is a marvelous work of bringing
literature to film, in my opinion. Cheers! " |
