Tanja, thank you ☺.

They did this before that they showed Simon clips from his past work, I think it was 50 min inside too a few years ago. I wanted to know what plans he has. We didn't learn anything about that while he was in Paris. So I wasn't so happy with this interview. Of course it was great to see Simon! Gorgeous as always, but I don't think he likes it so much to see videos or himself dry
But it showed how sensitive and emotional he is. You have to love him! I'm always touched how much he loves his family.

Article/Interview from L'Officiel Brazil: http://revistalofficiel.com.br/a-elegancia-discreta-de-simon-baker/

google translation:
The understated elegance of Simon Baker
Posted on February 12, 2015

Passing through Paris for the release of the new fragrance from Givenchy campaign, actor, master of elegance and discretion odd, talked to the press about fashion, photography, seduction and career, including the end of the series later this month and future projects . - For Cybele Maciet in Paris for L'Officiel Hommes Brazil.

The actor of 45 years Simon Baker, star of the television series The Mentalist is the face of the new male perfume Givenchy campaign, Gentlemen Only Casual Chic. Originally released as a Gentleman by Givenchy Monsieur in 1974, the new fragrance is the third in the range Gentlemen Only, re-launched in 2013, already with Simon as poster boy.

Gentleman Only Casual Chic won notes of cardamom, ginger and juniper, and sandalwood, cedar and birch leaves in the new version.

"In less than two years, the first Gentleman Only is the men's perfumes flagship in the world, among the top five in the Middle East, Russia and Argentina, and in the top 20 in France. Also, is the best selling product of the male line of Givenchy, "explains Thierry Maman, global director of maison, the L'Officiel Brazil.

It appears that Baker has reason to smile for nothing, since Thierry qualifies as the perfect man to represent the line: "Simon is discreet, elegant, sporty, and has the perfect image of the modern gentleman" he explains. In addition to the numbers Givenchy, The Mentalist series, in which he is the protagonist reached eight million viewers in its sixth season in France.

What is the secret of good form at age 45?

Simon Baker: Eat well and playing sports - in my case, whenever I can, surfing. It may seem model response, but it is out there (laughs).

How do you deal with female seduction?

Simon Baker: I seduce the same woman for 24 years, and is not always easy ... It changes every day and is a mystery to me, I think very complicated (he is married to Australian actress Rebecca Rigg, and they have three children, Stella , Claude and Harry).

What is to be gentleman?

Simon Baker: Be aware of the needs of others, good manners and put the other first. But attention, chivalry can be dangerous: women are very strong beings and sometimes do not need to open the doors to them.

What is your hobby when not working?

Simon Baker: I love photography. Whenever I can, I carry my Leica up and down. What I find amazing is daydreaming with my camera: I love the process of shooting and not necessarily the result. It's like being drunk and leave a little awareness, love this state of mind to shoot. You are there, but at the same time is not.

Think of exposing your photos one day?

Simon Baker: Yes, and why not? But then I think the result of the photos would be revealed to the public, and that way lose grace, no?

How do you explain the success of Patrick Jane, his character in The Mentalist, France? (Over the past six seasons, the French public has reached 60 million people)

Simon Baker: He is a person marked for life, is complex and full of flaws. The French always looking for something different in fiction and I think the fact that he tries to rediscover in life makes you special.

What are your future projects?

Simon Baker: The series will end on February 18 in the US (The Mentalist, aired by CBS) and after that, I direct a film project in Australia. Already bought the copyright direct the work, which is called Breath: it is a small history of Australian writer Tim Winton, and will be something very personal to me.

How did you react to the invitation of Givenchy to be the face of this campaign?

Simon Baker: I do not understand as they called for the campaign an old (laughs). I was extremely surprised because fashion has never been my forte. I had never imagined one day be ambassador of a luxury brand. At the same time, learned a lot about business marketing, important in a certain way.

As do the movie of the year in Paris?

Simon Baker: I have a special relationship with Paris ... I never had to fashion icons and I think the little I know about it today learned from the women here. He had a friend who said, "I am happily married, but every time I go to Paris, I am amazed at the French women ... They are not overly made-up and combed, by contrast, is all pretty basic, but they know exactly how to give value what they have to offer. No more there is too much temptation, "laughs Simon. All this strikes me, and making this film was as the realization of an old dream: cycling in the Ile Saint Louis and see beautiful women.

* Gentlemen Only Casual Chic will be released in mid-March / April in Brazil.

Article in In Touch Germany:

Nothing new, but here is the translation:

Simon Baker - Wave Rider

What a man! So that's how it looks when Simon Baker spends a free day at his favorite beach Whale Beach.
"I already spent most of the time surfing when I was a teenager. That's what gives me a kick, and it's also like meditation for me" eplains sexy Simon.

At the pics: That's the perfect wave, that's the perfect day (there is a German song with that lyrics)
The tv star likes to spend most of his free time at the beach.

Top-Body! "That's all due to surfing", so Simon.

Small article from "Grazia" french edition

Muse of the Givenchy "Gentleman only" fragrance, the actor mischievously indulged in our Q&A game.
Before the filming of Breath, his first movie as a director.

A cliché about you?
I am Australian and I surf.
The song that carried you away on the dance floor?
Golden Years by David Bowie
The record you listen too much?
Astral Weeks by Van Morrisson
Your fictional hero?
Wile E. Coyote. He never surrender!
The movie you've never tired of watching?
The Graduate by Mike Nichols.
The work of art that would be perfect in your living room?
A large painting from the Australian painter Bret Witheley
The book you never gave back?
Breath from the Australian Tim Winton, I bought the copyrights to make my first film.
The TV series you were addicted to?
I should answer The Mentalist! But I adored your french series "The Returned".
Your style in three words?
Work in Progress.
The actors who inspire you?
Carry Grant and Gregory Peck.
Your favourite legal drug?
Coffe.
Your beauty routine?
Sleep and physical exercise.
The ideal place for a date?
The Bondi Iceberg Club in Sydney, the ideal spot in summer. In Paris, I fell in love with your Closerie des Lilas. Perfect for the night.
The city where you would like to start from scratch?
Paris, if I was able to speak French! But I don't think I could start a new life there, because I'm getting recognized way too much! (laughs)
The detail that spoils it for you?
Bitterness. I hate that.

Thanks for the translation DSP and the superb photo! Interesting answers that tell us a little more about him and I will have to google the australian painter and also Astral Weeks by Van Morrison. I love his description of himself as a "work in progress". He has such a great sense of humour about himself. Just got to love him❤️

Thanks DSP....Brett Whitely was an avant-garde painter...not really my cup of tea unfortunately, but I do like Van Morrison and David Bowie though not particularly "Golden Years"! I also thought he preferred tea to coffee...oh well. I also liked the "work in progress" remark he made with regard to his style and Wile E Coyote as his fictional hero! He's so sweet.
