Wow thanks Ruuger and DSP so lovely to see him looking so well. I too agree Bee that I hope Simon will carry on in Australia being involved in the film industry.

I like the fact that the "intitutional" people around him are all dressed in suits, and Simon is wearing thongs (as they say in oz)! Love him. cool

Star struck twice in a week - this time shaking hands with Simon Baker who helped announce our new $16m WA Regional Film Fund on the set of Breath. Great work from the Screenwest Board, CE Ian Booth, Director Production Investment Adam Smith and the rest of the team. A really great outcome for WA screen, regions and community. Couldn't be more proud..!!

Back in the days when I was a kid in Texas, 50's and 60's, everyone wore that style of flip flops. Very vintage! And everyone called them thongs! I never heard of flip flops until I was an adult.

I love the tongs (as we call it in France).

We should take a poll: flip flops (which I grew up with in Santa Cruz, CA) or tongs

I'm from Canada. We use both terms, but I have always thought it to be thongs, not tongs.

Remember a line from the Beach Boys song "All Summer Long" ...."T-shirts cut-offs and a pair of thongs, we've been having fun all Summer long" That was in the early 1960's.

I am an American, and when I was in college in the 1960' s we called them thongs. The term flip flops came along later.
