Yes, Emily Swallow is leaving The Mentalist. She said accordingly on her twitter account.
She's already cast on another TV show apparently, called Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce (according to the actor Patrick Heusinger's twitter).

She's always been sweet and nice with the TM fandom on twitter. She seems to be a very cool person.
But I don't think her Kim Fisher character was of any use after MBH and a few episodes. And the writers are introducing a new rookie Agent played by Josie Loren for Season 7. That makes sense.
Makes me think also that her character was very very badly managed.

I couldn't agree more, DS_Pallas. I think she was added initially as a potential love interest for Jane, but then they figured out they'd have a riot on their hands if they didn't get Lisbon and Jane together, so her character didn't hold an important spot in the goings on after that. I'm glad she has another job lined up - the actress seemed quite nice.
Can't say I'll miss Fischer much. Now I'm wondering who will fill her position as team leader? Cho? I got the feeling the new person is a new hire, but I might be wrong. |

I don't think it's any doubt that S7 will be the last. We barely got it renewed for half a season as it was. |

I read that on Emily Swallows instagram also. I can't say that I'm sad she's leaving as a character, fewer cast members can mean more screen time for Simon! Yeah! Jane and Lisbon with a little Cho, Abbott and Wiley sprinkled in would be fine with me.  |
