Your welcome. I say it will be alot of talk about the movie, being a British one but I don't expect to be much of the Mentalist. It does not get hugh exposure in the UK and Ireland. Don't know is he by himself or with other cast on it though!

I didnt realise there are different presenters on the Friday show, I think Holly and Philip would have been better. At least maybe gotten his surname right, they called him Simon Barker early on. The basket was a lovely after thought of the show though.

Watched Simon's interview on This Morning and thought it was actually quite good.Simon was a lovely as ever.
Must admit had my reservations about how well it would go as I really don't like Eamonn Holmes or his wife ( I agree with Sorchauna, Philip and Holly would have been far better) and it really annoyed me when they got his name wrong ! very unprofessional. Nothing new really but did find out that Simon had worked a full day before flying over here ! Glad that Rebecca is with him and hope he finds some time to relax. Very sweet when they gave
him the goodie basket and he said that the Timtams were his favourites and he would enjoy some with a cup of tea
that afternoon. He is always so adorable biggrin

Seriously? How could they get Baker wrong? It's an English name for goodness sakes and an easy one at that. facepalm

I'm glad Deedee I was not the only one thinking that. Tho he seemed so shy at first watching the clips of the Mentalist to the "whatta man" song! But he did seem in good spirits as he did work a full day before he flew in and then to have a whole day of press today, whilst I'd assume not much sleep last night.
(Also Deede, thanks for letting me know that as I never knew Eamonn and Ruth were married, you actually could not tell. You think they would have more chemistry onscreen!). And yes unprofessional as it's not a difficult name at all to say. The Tim Tams was very adorable and do hope he actually got to have that break.

I'd so love to see this interview but they won't let me on the itv site because I'm not in Great Britain. Or does it work with hotspot shield?

Thought it was a nice gentle interview although I also would have preferred Holly and Philip! Yes, Ruth getting his name wrong and Eamonn asking if his glasses were a prop!! Simon was as gracious as ever though. Considering he had worked a full day before travelling here and with the premiere the night before I thought he looked amazing! I can imagine him in his hotel room with those Tim Tams and a cup of tea (so Patrick Jane!) I expect he'll be back filming TM on Monday morning, honestly I don't know how he does it! Lovely to see him in the UK though I only wish the weather had been kinder for him.

He did look a bit tired on the red carpet, but I applaud him for being so gracious in this interview. And Tim Tams rock!

Tough if he has to be back to work on Monday.

I thought they were really off hand with them. I don't watch them as a rule and this didn't make me want to in future. Poor Simon I really felt sorry for him. They had obviously never watched TM and weren't really interested. I should think he was glad to get away. sad

I know I was hoping for great interviews so he would be inclined to come back to the UK again! It was strange seeing him explain what the Mentalist was but I suppose channel 5 is small and for him to hit a big audience ITV provides (not to mention in Ireland to!) can only mean good things.

I think the French treat him with more respect than the UK press. No wonder they see more of him than we do.

I think there is a tendency for some British folks to dismiss the Australians. Are there British members here who could speak to that? (Sorry, I'm a newbie and don't really know who's from where yet.)

Quite enjoyed the interview, and thought Simon seemed to relax a bit during it. Did he get the Tim Tams though? Eamonn was holding them in the photo.
