[In answer to several questions about the barn basement being the same set as the one used in 1x23 or the one where Jane was held hostage in Ball of Fire] Nope not the same… [and] new set. Stage 9.
[The surprise party scene. You can see Karl on the stairs] It was a funny scene to shoot. The guy that was the stripper was funny as hell. Good sport.

[Asked about the difficulty of filming with multiple dogs] I wasn’t on set that day but Simon digs the dogs. Always very good with them. Animals on set can be tough but always fun.
The director of tonight’s Mentalist episode, Allison Anders, directs a lot of #Southland. Really enjoyed working with her. @MsAllisonAnders

Thanks justlook3. By the way, I meant to mention about your previous post, wasn't Tony Astrino a Writer's Assistant - I wonder if he's been promoted or is just doing an episode as a guest writer.

Thinking he's this season's guest writer Fran. I thought it was mentioned in an earlier tweet but I can't find it.

I thought this season's guest writer was Michael Weiss who wrote Panama Red, but maybe he's a new permanent writer - I think I've got confused wacko

They have a ton of writers this season, 10 I think they said. So that could be the case.

Allison Anders (director of The Red Barn) I am putting these under a spoiler because they are about specific events in the episode. I don't know if we've been doing that since most of what is tweeted is considered a spoiler, but I'm just going to go with on the safe side for these. I should have for a couple of tweets from Karl too. A ruling Fran?

Thanks justlook, interesting couple of tweets from Allison Anders. To be honest I'm never quite sure myself whether or not spoiler tags are needed in this thread - opinions would probably vary so I think its a judgement call really. Your judgement agrees with mine on this occasion, for specific episode details like these I would have put them in spoiler tags (as long as I'd remembered to do it wink )

Reply to 'any idea on the title/writer of 5.18?' - That would be Erika Green Swafford & Eoghan Mahony and directed by one of my favorite directors, Chris Long.

Simon Baker really does have great instincts. That barn scene is one of my favourites from the entire show. I thought it was brilliant the first time I saw it.

Simon is looking at scenes as a director now and knows how to make a good shot great. Instincts coupled with talent for sure.

Thanks kul65, great news that Lorelei is back, seems like she's in 5.16 There Will Be Blood (written by the great Ken Woodruff and David Appelbaum cool )

Update: Possible name change of this episode to 'The Girl Who Played with Fire'.
