Well, pretty sure at this point last year TV by the Numbers was saying that The Mentalist was on the bubble and that it, The Good Wife, CSI Miami and CSI NY were all candidates to be cancelled. And to be honest, it seems like twitter was a new toy for the writers last season and now they're bored with it. I also don't remember there being anything about season 5 at this point in season four either. I think people are freaking out more because of the numbers being lower. It's again worth pointing out that CSI: NY is being removed from the schedule early. That's pretty much saying it's not going to be renewed. And sadly Vegas won't be renewed either. So I don't see that there's anything to worry about. |

You're right, Justlook. And I'm pretty sure that The Mentalist is going to be renewed but... That site has the ability to make me nervous.
I think that the show needs one more season to have an appropriate ending. Bruno Heller has said that he created the series for six seasons, so I just hope he can finish his great work as he wants. They deserve it. |

I couldn't agree more. I don't want it to go on past it's "sell date" but I think there's enough story left to fill up one more year. I really want them to send these characters off right, and it won't happen if they do it in a hurry at the end of this season. |

Hey Mentalistas! Have I been busy. We're filming our last episodes, I've been editing a short for Tim Kang, & I'm directing my own film soon.
[To keep people from freaking, I told him he should clarify that he meant this season's last episodes] "Last" in terms of the season. We have to have a break so season 6 will be even that much more exciting!!!
[Adding this one because it seems like the season's filming is finishing next month. Someone asked if he'd show Simon a fan video they sent to Jimmy] I tried, but he's so busy, he said he'll watch when the season comes to an end in March
[About Amanda] She's around... Just saw her last week. She'll be back soon. She's got her hands full right now, I imagine.
[About when Van Pelt leaves] She hasn't left yet... She's still in every episode you've seen. More in my episode next week!

Jimmy also seems to think that they're airing a rerun tonight and that the promo for the next episode will be there, but I'm pretty sure the Grammys will run into that slot. If The Mentalist does air look for it. |

Thanks Fran. It definitely is the Grammys tonight, but perhaps they'll air a Mentalist promo, which they didn't do during the Super Bowl. |

They sure are finishing early this year. Usually filming goes on 'til April. I hope we are not being short-changed. Nest week is 5-16 and we are supposed to have at least 23 epis. Then a whole long adieu 'til season 6 is September. |

Last I heard the season was still standing at 22 (full season) and they didn't order the extra episode this season. It's possible that Jimmy meant April and said March, it's never good to take only one word. It's a pity that the writers room seems to have gotten bored with the whole twitter thing. (I bet they had a few too many crazies and nasty comments too that drove them away). At the beginning of the season they were filming two episodes at once, so it could be that for whatever reason they want to wrap early, they might double up again. |

Thanks justlook, yes I agree about 22 episodes this Season, I seem to remember we've seen that mentioned a few times. I think I'll wait and see about the title of Ep 5.16, as changes to episode titles don't always seem to filter through to all the crew |

It takes one and a half weeks to film an episode. So they will be finishing up three weeks early which puts them into March instead of April this year. Remember, we've never had a season this short, 22 episodes (23 epi first season, 24 epi second-fourth season.) |

Agreed. It seems like the title has flipfloped during production, we see it one way on one thing and another on another. We'll see when it airs, it might change again! LOL.
Any word on an air date for 5x15? We should have gotten a press release by now wouldn't you think? That's why I'm thinking it won't air until March. The Oscars are Feb 24 and even though they're not on CBS they might not want to run first run shows against it. (They did against the Golden Globes, but the Oscars are considered the "bigger" event) |

Not sure how reliable, but this list has new episodes listed as airing from March 3rd to 24th and then from April 14th to May 5th, concluding the season.
Obs: There's some error at 3/31/13 right now that wasn't there before. For reliability, it predicted the air dates for 5x14 and 5x15 through 5x18 as early as December.
