All I can think of when I saw the picture is the episode in season 1 when Jane talks about love and affection. And replies to Rigsby why would I want a group of women following me! No doubt Simon is well used to it.

Amanda is back already, that was quick. She must be bringing her little nipper to the set with her. I hope she is sufficiently rested since these shoots can take their toll.

So that means she returns in 5x18 already, though probably just for a last scene cameo given the late arrival. That was indeed quick. Fantastic! Hope we get some really good Van Pelt moments in the final four then, to balance out her absence. smile

Judging from what little I know about maternity leave (not having taken it), I think it's usually 6-8 weeks for television. That's what they usually given soap opera actresses. Some tv series can delay or shoot around for a pregnancy/maternity leave but since Amanda isn't the lead, she probably only got the 6 weeks. They wrap in a few weeks so she'll have some more time with the tike. I imagine they'll continue the season Van Pelt light as well.

This woman appears to be in a lot of takes. I wonder what role she's playing.

Yes, I wonder too. I didn't flag her up under Casting News, because although she's been in a lot of things over the years, she doesn't seem to have had any significant roles, and hasn't been in anything since 2007. But as you say, she does seem to have done a lot of scenes here.

All I can say is, lucky lady! I'd so love to have Simon's arm around me just once!

Fran, can I ask a favour? wink Of you or anyone else who has the power to tweet (I'm not on Twitter due to stalker issues...meh...it's complicated!) I was wondering if someone could tweet the writers and ask them if there is any chance of a 'live' episode in the next series? ER did it, so did CSI...I don't see any reason why Simon and Co couldn't pull it off too. The idea that the poker scene between Jane and Lisbon was unscripted got me thinking...

Would appreciate it if someone could ask... maybe we'll get lucky and get a response. Or maybe if someone has already asked, what the outcome was? wink

AgentM - to be honest I'm not a fan of live episodes, it seems to me that there's usually a loss in quality and I always have the uncomfortable feeling that the audience is waiting for someone to make a mistake, whether it be cast or crew. I don't know much about it, but I would have thought the cast would be less likely to improvise during a live episode because the risk is so much greater.

I understand what you mean, Fran, and I agree to some extent. I just thought that it might pose an extra challenge for them as actors (and crew members). Simon is the kind of actor who is always pushing himself to go a little bit further, I just figured it would be another string to his bow, another feather in his cap so-to-speak.

I guess I was just musing aloud! wink Plus deep down, I think I just liked the idea of maybe getting a response from the actual writers to something I asked. cool
