Quote (Fran) I've got very strong doubts about that tweet Wand, because I've seen photos of Anna back in Los Angeles which claim to be from yesterday.
Fran, acording to this blog from people who has been working on the movie, it seems like it's true what he said and they finished filming yesterday night.

“I Give It a Year” Wrapped
Well as this film (I Give It a Year) is winding down our next production is hotting up!
[...] We finish “I Give It a Year” at midnight Thursday and begin filming first thing Friday morning on “About Time”, Richard Curtis’ new film. Both productions are from Working Title [...]
This film has been brilliant our main cast is Rose Byrne, Rafe Spall, Anna Faris and Simon Baker, it's directed by Dan Mazer, and it’s laugh out loud funny, and we are back filming in the same church where Watson got married in Sherlock. It's been a hard shoot as we have done this film in 7 weeks and we are bang on schedule so that's pretty incredible.

Thanks lqnt, that's an interesting link. I wonder if those photos are from the wedding of Rose & Rafe's characters - I think Simon's character doesn't go to the wedding.
Yes, you're right it has been confirmed that filming wrapped with last night's shoot. Apparently it was a short session of a fireworks night scene, which was mainly done using CGI. The information which I think is incorrect is about Anna and Simon being there. I think they must have used a double for Anna as there are photos of her in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and it seems unlikely that she'd have flown back for a short night sequence. The Simon sighting in the British Airways lounge yesterday seems to be accurate, so I don't think he was there either. But apparently Rafe was there. |

Feeling sad and a little disappointed now that Simon has left the UK after all those weeks with ......not a word......not a sign......not an interview......not a single moment to treasure!!!

Bee - I agree its disappointing that we didn't get any chat show appearances or even anything to promote TheMentalist for Channel 5. But hopefully the lasting legacy of Simon's time here will outweigh all that - I'm optimistic for a great performance in a British film which will be a big hit and bring him more UK fans and a higher profile here. |

Let's hope so Fran, he certainly deserves it... I'd also like to say a big "Thank You" to the few lucky fans who shared their photos of Simon with us while he was here. So all was not lost! Here's to the next time.

First review of a rough cut of the film is up at comingsoon.net. Very favorable. Someone, please post link, I'm still pretty green on a tablet. |

Peithon, this is all I could find i.e. one user comment (favourable), and who knows how reliable those are. But looks like a good site. Thanks for pointing it out. Also, I definitely know what you mean a about using a tablet. I have a iPad, and after 3 months, there are still days when I hate it.

Thanks Wand. Seemed a pretty 'reliable' review. I'll bet Simon is the best man speech |

Wow, that seems very early for a rough-cut preview, I didn't know they did that. Nice that the review is so positive, but a pity they didn't provide a bit more information. I suspect the Best Man is Stephen Merchant, I think Simon was in Paris when they were filming the wedding. |

On the imdb Simon Quiz, it says that Simon's role in this film is an actor, I haven't seen that anywhere else so don't know if it's right. |

That could explain that he is American in the film. That would explain his reason for being in London. |
