British re-working of the Gala.fr interview

Simon Baker never takes wife for granted

Simon Baker still feels he needs to "seduce" his wife.

The Australian actor married Rebecca Rigg in 1998 and they have three children together.

The 42-year-old star ensures his relationship stays on track by keeping the spark alive.

"I need some challenges in love or I'm bored. Life is never the same with Rebecca because she keeps some mystery [around her]," he told Gala France. "I still feel I have to seduce her to make sure she stays with me. In general, the problem in a relationship is when the couple stagnate. And I don't have any routine with my wife."

Simon's marriage hasn't always been easy and he admits he used to argue with Rebecca. However, The Mentalist actor insists that has only brought them closer together.

"We are both very stubborn! We often had feuds at the beginning of our relationship, but as we get older we both got bored of the feuds. And more than that, [I] finally understand that the woman is always right! There are still some frictions, of course, but we always try to take something positive from that. It never put our relationship in danger. On the contrary, it makes us stronger," he said.

Survey of Australia's most liked & most disliked personalities

The results of the first ever Encore Score, an on air talent ranking designed for marketers and TV networks, were announced at the Mumbrella360 conference this morning.

By far the most popular Australian personality is Hugh Jackman with an Encore Score of 426 while Kyle Sandilands was the least popular with a score of -299.

The survey quizzed 2965 members of the public about 738 personalities. Survey respondents were asked which celebrities they recognised and how much they liked or hated each personality.

The intention of the Encore Score is to provide an indicator to brands and programmers about which personalities are most bankable with audiences.

Each respondent saw 100 names and images. Each celebrity was seen by an average of 360 respondents. A formula was then applied to the results that took into account how many people ‘liked’ them, ‘hated’ them and ‘recognised’ them, resulting in the Encore Score ((%favourite – %hate x level of recognition) x 1000 = Encore Score).

The top 10 most liked celebrities as judged by the Australian public:
1. Hugh Jackman
2. Rebecca Gibney
3. Michael Caton
4. Adam Hills
5. Eric Bana
6. Magda Szubanski
7. Olivia Newton-John
8. Geoffrey Rush
9. Simon Baker
10. John Clarke

The most disliked personalities are:
1. Kyle Sandilands
2. Matthew Newton
3. Sam Newman
4. Ben Cousins
5. Brynne Edelston
6. Pauline Hanson
7. Brendan Fevola
8. Alan Jones
9. Deni Hines
10. Alex Perry

Interview with Raphael Sbarge, who is currently one of the main cast members of 'Once Upon A Time'

Excerpt:
10. You worked with Simon Baker on "The Guardian" for 3 years. What was working with him like and do you still keep in touch or follow eachother's work?

Simon is a good man, and we had 3 great years on that show. I did a small stint on his new(er) show, "The Mentalist", and we got to catch up — about our kids and families (you share a lot in 3 years of working closely together), but needless to say, he and I are incredibly busy and don't have a lot of time to hang out together. We do have very warm feelings for one another, and I am always happy to see him.

7th June

Reply to 'Hi matt, haven't heard anything of your adventures in London recently. Has filming finished?' - "back in the states!"

(Is it just Matt, or Simon as well, I'm not sure)

Thanks Juney, I thought it was about time for a change. Not the best quality photo on my shortlist of candidates, but the cuteness factor won the day biggrin

I agree Juney. I love too ! He looks so innocent in this photo. It seems to me to hear him say hello in French to the journalist. He had an almost timid voice of a child !!! smile

Hi Sweetevy, do you think he might sound shy because he doesn't fully understand French. I imagine it could be a bit overwhelming to be slightly out of the loop. No criticism here, I don't speak it either (except schoolgirl French, and I left school a long long time ago). biggrin

Prix de Diane appearances

I've already put this info in the Comments on the News item, but I'll include it here as well, to make sure people don't miss it.

This French article seems to be saying that France 3 will broadcast the Prix de Diane live on Sunday from 3.35pm with a small interview with Simon. And that it will also air on Equidia Live from 2pm and on Equidia Life from 2.45pm.

There also seems to be a link on the page where you can watch the programme (duration 40 minutes).

http://tvmag.lefigaro.fr/program....ne.html

Also Simon will be attending the Longines Gala dinner at Chateau de Chantilly, Paris Sat 20:00 - it probably won't be televised, but there should be some nice photos from this event, and possibly a video feature by Longines.
