Being a Simon Baker fan in the UK seems like a lot like being a David Tennant fan in the US! Matt Smith got a bit of a boost because BBC America finally got the rights to the show as David was on his way out. They did a massive ad campaign and Matt's done some of the talk shows. They even filmed in the US. But it was too late for Tennant. Most people have no clue who he is. So I truly understand your feelings on this.
And I'm astonished how well The Mentalist does in France. While 10 mil people is actually only 15% of their population, if you took that in the US, that would be 46 million viewers. Which is oh only 3-4 times their average ratings. That's just astonishing. |

Thank you Fran for translating that article. Not a bad translation at all. That's interesting that they have an end in mind. I hope too that they can go out when the show is still fresh, not let it drag on to the point where noone cares any more (which happens all too often on US shows, I'd rather have 6-7 good seasons then 10-12 or more mediocre ones). It's sad that he might have to put a disguise on to move around. |
