Great stuff is coming down the pike in Mentalist land.
The title of 506 is " Red Dawn" written by Tom Szentgyorgyi. Instant classic is all I can say about it. Will quickly enter the Mentalist pantheon of great episodes. You will definitely be talking about it. There will be a lot of good Jane/Lisbon scenes. No spoilers tho. Not trying to get pelted in the writing office with tomatoes! |

The super duper Rebecca Cutter will be writing episode 511 this season.
Reply to ' why do you usually choose #ChrisLong to direct the most intense episodes of the Mentalist ?' - Chris as Executive Producing director is in charge of production. While we have guest directors, he is the "man" all of them look to for guidance on directing the series so that the episodes maintain an overall continuity in the feel of the show. Because he is so immersed and has been with the show since inception, he can make those heavy intense show mythology episodes sing because he knows the show so well. Plus, he's just an awesome director! : )
Reply to 'are actors ever surprised by something not in the script or they always know exactly what'll happen?' - If there is something major happening, they get a heads up before the production draft comes out but changes happen all the time
Reply to 'what would be defined as "something major" that they'd know ahead of time?' - Changes like Rigsby now being a father or repercussions of an injury (requiring Lisbon to be in a sling) Stuff like that.
Reply to 'Have you ever not told em something major just to mess with em' - Practical jokes have been played but never anything crazy. I plead the fifth on any jokes.
Reply to 'tell me something about writing for Robin Tunney?' - She's a consumate professional. We throw a lot of procedural heavy stuff at her that she delivers with aplomb.

Reply to 'the "cho on drugs" storyline isnt gonna be pursued? and, any idea how rigsby's baby will factor into the show?' - I never say never about storylines so "Cho on drugs" is on ice 4 now. You'll see how Rigsby deals with fatherhood.
Reply to 'Is Patrick's Dad every going to make a reapperance or are we going to learn more about Patricks past like his childhood?' - Like I said before, I never say never but the dad and his childhood seem to be on ice for now. |
