A: Oh, thank you so much, lovely! You’re very sweet.
Robin is kind of quiet, but she’s hilarious when she opens up to you. She’s insanely smart. She’s always stating random facts that she finds in some book that she’s reading. She’s really sweet, pretty sarcastic. She’s really easy going. Sweetest woman, I’ll never forget what she said to me on the last day. She’s my favorite, I love Tunney.
And Simon…What can I even say about Simon. He’s goofy. He’s a goofball. He’s really funny. He was always running around set, being wild. He would always do things like; pick up a mini hammer, run over to me and tap my knuckles with it like they were marimbas. Or one time he hooked up a scary looking machine (Unplugged and antique, of course) to my finger tips and turned it on “Full Voltage” and we played Frankenstein. He’s a nickname guy, too. I always had a nickname.
Both really lovely people that I was lucky to work with.

I think they were goofing around, in the glasses sense since Patrick doesn't wear glasses! 
It's funny though, we always get the idea that Simon is so serious onset, yet comments like these seem to be the opposite. I think also since he's a dad of teenagers, he works very well with the teens that have been on. Madison (Annie) last season talked about how much she learned from him and that she continues to use some techniques he showed her.
Totally missed that mentalistwriter tweet about how that's Simon's stunt double crossing the street. Thinking Jane is dodging cars again this season. LOL.

I was thinking exactly the same thing! lol. Accidental or targetted? What do we think? I'm leaning towards targetted...has to be! Still, we've seen how good he is at somersaulting over car hoods (Bloodshot) I'm sure they won't damage him too much!

gosh, missed those pictures and just found and got hammered away with this one:
Jane dodging cars reminds me of the Simon-falling-off-a-roof-rack-story - he could do such himself (and would have fun with it) without problems, but what would the insurance say, right?!

I was thinking the same thing, Jane's stunt double crossing the street, the pic of the front of the hospital emergency room re Simon being serious on set, he takes his acting and the fact he keeps about 200 people employed very seriously but I have heard several times by people who should know he likes a light-hearted friendly atmosphere and the lead actor does set the tone on set. |

Question
You said you most worked with Simon and Robin, so I wanted to ask, is there any advice they gave you regarding acting, or something you observed in them that you'll treasure for your future experiences?
Answer
I always learn something new on every set and project I work on. Sometimes, the things I learn are more obvious than others. With Simon and Robin, I can’t exactly put my finger on what I learned specifically, but I internalized a lot of good habits. Robin is in her own world a lot, staying in character, constantly practicing her lines. That’s part of what makes her so good, she knows how to stay in her mind and stay focused.
Simon has this really great balance going with his silliness and his seriousness. Half the time he’d be singing, putting strange jewelry on me, coming up with embarrassing and cute nicknames for me, tugging on my hair, dancing around, then he’d switch into full-focus work mode. Always keeping everyone on track, making sure people were doing what they were supposed to be doing. They’re both really hard workers.
Question
You're on the set of Mentalist? ... Words can't explain how jealous I am.
Answer
I’m a character in season five, love! And don’t be jealous. They’re all lovely, talented people who all make a beautiful thing come together, but other than that, they’re all really normal. I was blessed and forever grateful to be able to work with such a phenomenal cast, we got pretty close. I spent a considerable amount more time than a regular guest star might (It’s usually two days per guest star, I was lucky enough to spend nine) on set. I left with emails and nicknames, and tears in my eyes. It was a phenomenal experience that I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for.

Who's your favorite character?
Answer
I think my favorite character would have to be Simon’s. Simon said that his character is like a lost child, and I think that’s so true, he’s so adorable and boyish, but tragic and has a deep understanding of anguish. You want to help him. Or maybe Tim’s character. I love Cho so much. He’s hilarious.
Question
Did you work with the other cast such as Amanda Owain and Tim?
Answer
I worked with Owain and Tim, but unfortunately Amanda and I never had any scenes together! But Tim and I got pretty tight, we were shooting in the ‘WB Jungle’ which has no AC, and it was 108°. So we were huddled around the fan in between takes, ended up talking for hours. Sweetest man. Shared a bag of Gummi Bears with him. Both Tim and Owain are hilarious, neither of them are anything like their characters.
Question
Could you share with us some nicknames you got from Simon?
Answer
A few were: Little Muffin, Little Dolly, Dove-let, Little Marsupial, Little Bird. When he discovered that Robin and I both had bird names, he had fun with that one too. “Call me Hawk! We’ll hence-forth be known as Dove, Robin and Hawk. Write that down, Dove and Hawk.” |
