Here's a different (Australian) view, I suppose its just a question of personal taste:

Rebecca Stevens @beckjstevens (TV Presenter for Sydney Weekender)
Just went to the premiere of "I give it a year"! So hilarious! rose Byrne and Simon Baker fantastic! http://instagr.am/p/UgB75EHEUM/

Kellie Hush @KellieHush (Editor Harper's BAZAAR Australia)
Cover star Rose Byrne is super duper cute in "I Give it a Year". So is Simon Baker!

I'm guessing this movie appeals to a very narrow range of people. I was going to go with my husband, if/when it comes to Canada, but now I think I'll see it on my own. He absolutely loathed Borat, and walked out in the middle.

I certainly won't miss it. This weekend's LA Times listed all new movies opening in the next few months but failed to list "I Give it a Year". Hoping it still opens on Valentine's day. Of course my son has a gig that night, which means that I'll have to take in a matinee. Oh well, an efternoon with Simon isn't so bad.

sylvia5993, as far as I know, this movie does not yet have a North American release schedule. I don't really know the movie business; wondering if I Give It a Year still looking for a North American distributor.

Oh dear, have just read those reviews. I had high hopes for this one but didn't think much of the trailer.

How come people are seeing this now. I didn't think it was being released until February.

Well I will be going to see it along with a couple of friends. I dont take much notice of reviews, its a personal thing and I think Simon would turn down anything truly dreadful. I'll let you know what I think. Its at my cinema soon.:)

It's nice to know SB will be in London. No interviews though I suppose.

Thanks for the news DS_Pallas, that's great hands hands hands
Although I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised, because the humour seems so 'British'.

Great news about the win!!! I read an interview with Mazer, and he called this movie an anti romcom. Perhaps that's why some people are not appreciating the movie's type of humour.
