Meet the Filmmakers - free itunes podcast from Apple.

Thrill sent me this, but I haven't listened to it, I think you have to have itunes installed. Thrill says that it's mostly Dan and Ralph talking, but there are some great Simon bits. At 33 minutes he talks about 'Breath' - and confirms it is still an early draft but that he won't be directing it, he has an Australian Director on board.

Really good interview and question time. They all looked so relaxed and enjoying the chat amongst themselves. Hope this means that Simon may consider doing another film over in the UK. Would like to know where in the country he went? wink

I'm looking forward to watching it this evening. Had to find out first how to download a podcast, had never done this before. Since I watch TM via itunes I already had the programme and my ipod. Can't wait. A good little extra since it takes so long til the next TM episode airs.

My son gave me my first iPod for Christmas. What a foresight! tongue With his help I downloaded my first podcast video onto it. THIS ONE. Now I can have Simon with me everywhere. Simon talking, smiling, laughing, winking. Simon so very personable, amiable, relaxed. I love this interview! Thanks for posting it!

I love my ipod, I'm sure you have a lot of fun with it, Sun. I have tons of music on it. And of course the new TM episodes. You can download pictures as well.
Had some trouble to get the video podcast on it, I had never worked with podcasts before. First it only copied the audio version, but I figured it out this morning and can finally watch it later.

Don't forget to download Blake Neely's theme for Patrick "I Believe". Quite haunting and surreal at times. It starts with just a note (Solitude) and ends with the same. Truly he has captured Patrick"s sadness, eagerness and unfulfilled quest returning him to solitude again.

I have the soundtrack CD that covers Season 1 and 2 music of TM. I so hope Blake Neely publishes a CD for the other seasons too. Especially the "Charlotte" theme! I love to listen to the music. "Believe" is my absolutely favorite.

I'm gonna try! It's the South by Southwest Fest aka SXSW in Austin, Texas. It's a music, film, media blitz. Such craziness you have never seen! And Austin is hippy land for real! Great place to listen to music and people watch year round. Willie Nelson's territory. I had planned to move there at one point. I may still do it. Somewhere on You tube there are a couple of funny little videos of Simon, Patton Oswalt, Pollyanna McIntosh and Daniel Waters, the director of Sex and Death 101 at another film festival in Austin back in 2007 called Fantastic Fest. There is a little strong language on one them but worth looking at. If I knew how, I'd post them, but also, as I said, there is some strong language at times. happy

A good critic about the movie. It's from "Mirror". I don't know what kind of newspaper it is, I mean if it's serious or not but here it is.

A Rose for your Valentine: Brit rom-com's a Mr and Mrs hit

02/03/2013

This deliciously smart and saucy British rom-com delivers gags, goofiness and great performance
****
The stars
Rose Byrne, Rafe Spall, Anna Faris, Simon Baker, Stephen Merchant, Minnie Driver, Olivia Colman, Jason Flemyng.
The story
High-flyer Nat (Byrne) and laid-back would-be writer Josh (Spall) marry after a whirlwind romance. But as the matrimonial dust settles they wonder if they are suited to each other. With their first anniversary looming, things are complicated when Josh’s ex, Chloe (Faris), reappears at the same time as Nat’s hunky client Guy (Baker) takes an interest in her.
The verdict
This deliciously smart and saucy British rom-com delivers gags, goofiness and great performances and, in the run-up to Valentine’s Day, hits the comedy sweet-spot spot on. Writer Dan Mazer has served time working with Sacha Baron Cohen and makes a terrific directorial debut I Give It A Year is brimming with hilarious moments, a dash of bawdiness and plenty of waspish one-liners.
Sex appeal and savvy intelligence come from Rose Byrne (who showed her comedy skills in Bridesmaids) and sweet Anna Faris (forsaking her blonde locks for a dowdy style).
They are complemented by Rafe Spall, who is settling nicely into leading-man duties, with The Mentalist star Simon Baker providing classic sophisticated good looks.
The Office’s Stephen Merchant is brilliant as the most hilariously thoughtless best man ever seen on screen and Minnie Driver shines as Nat’s bitingly sarcastic sister, who is always happy to complain about her own marriage.
Most rom-coms end with the glitzy wedding, but I Give It A Year cleverly turns the genre on its head by showing how there is often more humour in how couples view each other, especially when both come to realise that things don’t click.
With London the most perfect of movie backdrops, the romantic goings-on make for great comedy entertainment. And if there is any justice it should bring more and more lead roles for Rose Byrne, who manages to combine smouldering sexuality with gentle charm and refinement.
