Watched it today - great movie although some of the humour a tad crude for me.
Even after living in Britain for close to 15 years I am still not used to pure British humour ...
You can see some of the panic in Rose's eyes and some of the studied calmness in Simon's during the dove scenes. |

Great news re Aus box office No 1 for last weekend. The cinema was packed when I saw it on Sat night.......
I was in a traffic jam stopped by a bus stop last week and there was Simon looking at me .................. |

does anyone know about a US release? Supposedly the sxsw fest is premiering it on Mar 9 and supposedly Simon is listed as a guest along with Byrne to host, but have heard nothing more about release. The Amazon dvd doesn't work for the US machines. I am feeling deprived right now. Surely, if it is at sxsw, it will eventually be released in the states? |

Mossibecca - thanks very much for the news about the DVD release - not too long to wait thank goodness 
258pce - my understanding is that it doesn't have a distributor yet in the US. Hopefully they'll get one at the film festival, I would think there's a good chance as the film is doing pretty well elsewhere. But even if it doesn't get a US distributor, I'm sure it will be released to DVD there. |

258pce, I don't know about US players, but usually there are ways to get many players codefree so they can play dvds from all over the world. Just did it with my new bluray player. You find infos how to do it in the internet. It's a different way for each brand of players. There are also players available that are already codefree. I know from a US friend that she has one. |

A rumor circulates at the moment in France: Simon should be present to the presentation of the movie in Bordeaux. But I think it's "just brainwashing". This has already happened in Paris with "margin call". It wasn't true.
I'll watch and see if this is confirmed. But I don't believe it. |

I posted about the CGR Bordeaux event a couple of weeks ago, but I've just checked their Facebook page again and this has been posted:
Nous sommes désolés mais nous venons d'apprendre que Simon Baker ne sera pas présent au Méga CGR le français pour l'avant première du film Mariage à l'anglaise.
My French isn't up to much, but I'm pretty sure they're saying that Simon will not be attending.
