Excerpt from Rose Byrne interview, comments from Simon about the dove scene:

Of course, Byrne's fear only fuelled the amusement of her colleagues, as Baker can attest.

"It was full on. It was a mess. There was dove s--- flying everywhere and Rose was freaking out about the birds, I mean, petrified," Baker says.

"There were a couple of takes where she started laughing and crying at the same time because she just couldn't handle it, she was so freaked out.

"I'm trying to play it completely straight and at one point I had two doves literally walking around on my scalp and Rose was flipping out.

"And this is the eighth take in a row ruined because Rose is under the table whimpering and screaming ... " he laughs.

"In her close-ups I was trying to hold her hands, just to keep her calm. 'It's OK, Rosie, it's all right'."

It reminded me of the epi in the first season when he reaches across the table to touch the young distraught girl's hand, it was almost surreal since it reminded me of the epi in The Guardian with the same actress.

Watched it today - great movie although some of the humour a tad crude for me.
Even after living in Britain for close to 15 years I am still not used to pure British humour ...

You can see some of the panic in Rose's eyes and some of the studied calmness in Simon's during the dove scenes.

does anyone know about a US release? Supposedly the sxsw fest is premiering it on Mar 9 and supposedly Simon is listed as a guest along with Byrne to host, but have heard nothing more about release. The Amazon dvd doesn't work for the US machines. I am feeling deprived right now. Surely, if it is at sxsw, it will eventually be released in the states?

Mossibecca - thanks very much for the news about the DVD release - not too long to wait thank goodness smile

258pce - my understanding is that it doesn't have a distributor yet in the US. Hopefully they'll get one at the film festival, I would think there's a good chance as the film is doing pretty well elsewhere. But even if it doesn't get a US distributor, I'm sure it will be released to DVD there.
